Merit Badge Opportunities

****Longhorn Council will host an Aquatic School at Worth Ranch July 13-19, 2004. Individuals or groups can register. Scouts have the ability to earn the Swimming, Lifesaving, Canoeing, Rowing, and Public Speaking merit badges along with other awards. I know Will Brasswell who is one of the adults in charge and this camp sounds like a way to have a lot of fun while learning Scout and life skills. (see attached flyer).

****Mrs. Dee Wallace, a Robotics merit Badge counselor, has offered to teach a class of 10 Scouts this merit badge. She teaches Robotics and oversees robotics teams that compete across the country. She will come to Katy and she has all the supplies needed (robot parts, laptops, etc.) for the class. She has taught two classes for us in the past. Please contact me if you are interested in earning this merit badge. I'm not sure what the fee will be. I'm estimating around $25-$30. It was $25 in the past before the cost of gasoline went up. She has also taught two classes for my sister-in-law's troop in The Woodlands.
When I have enough interested Scouts, I will contact her to work out a date for the class.
